On Thursday, October 16, 2025, NBEF launched its fall programming with an Economic Empowerment and Building Community Wealth platform. This platform was designed to meet the needs of our College & Young Professional Network participants.

NBEF organized a Homeownership Workshop, specifically tailored for college graduates who are already employed and embarking on their journey to establish their livelihood and financial security through homeownership. This innovative program component, the first of its kind to address the specific needs of young professionals, was a resounding success, attracting 30 enthusiastic participants. Jonathan Ortiz, an Emerging Market Mortgage Loan Officer from PNC, led the Zoom presentation, which drew NBEF alumni from throughout the region. Some of the topics Mr. Ortiz covered included: Home Buying Made Easy, Pre-Qualification, Affordability, Application Process, Mortgage Options, Downpayments, etc.

NBEF’s College and Young Professionals offers New Brunswick High School and New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School students a pathway to transition from high school to college and beyond. Through career development, coaching, and mentoring, the program helps students build their professional and life portfolios, increasing their chances of success in life, community, and the global economy.
