  CAREER CLUSTER HELD FOR NURSING AND ENGINEERING MAJORS

NBEF’s CAREER CLUSTER PROGRAM entails New Brunswick High School (NBHS) and New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School (NBHSTHS) alumni who serve as guest speakers, workshop facilitators and panelists to provide tips/pointers, resources, and contacts for high school and college students in NBEF’s Network pursuing careers in Engineering, Computer Science, Nursing, Business and Communications, Law, and Social Work and Psychology.

NBEF held both Nursing and Engineering Clusters on Saturday, November 15th from 11:00 am-12:30 pm. The Career Cluster Panels included: Michelle Palma, RN; Travis Read Gais, RN; Gabriela Rodriguez, RN, all of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital; and Shantaija Rice (Packaging Engineer); Remy Plattiers (Mechanical Engineer); Norma Cervantes (Civil Engineer); and Jose Henandez-Morales (Biomedical Engineer). 

Some topics covered during the panel discussion focused on their personal backgrounds, navigating college, transitioning to the workforce, exploring different specialties of their respective fields, etc.

Career Cluster are a premier program of NBEF’s Network. It gives accomplished alumni from NBHS and NBHSTHS a chance to “give back” and sets the stage for a pipeline of achievement for current college and high school students who are aspiring various fields. These accomplished members of our Network are most relatable (having come from the same community and high schools) and exudes “if I can do it … I know you can and will succeed.”
