On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, with over 160 attending, NBEF held its “Prep for Success” Holiday Gathering the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ for New Brunswick High School, New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School and P-TECH School juniors and seniors, along with alumni (college/grad school students and young professionals).
This compact conference style event, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick Tomorrow, PNC Foundation, New Jersey Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development and the New Brunswick Public School is designed to inspire and equip New Brunswick youth/young adults in their educational, career, and life pursuits.

The evening began with hors’ devours and networking. This was followed by Ovi Vasquez, one of the country’s leading motivational speakers, who delivered a dynamic message chronicling his inspiring life story. Ovi Vasquez traveled all the way from the California to attend NBEF’s Holiday Gathering and he truly galvanized the audience (Read his bio)

After a buffet spread (and more networking), the energy of the event then shifted to a dynamic “Panel Discussion” (all New Brunswick High School and New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School alumni) moderated by Enicely Mojica, an Program Specialist for the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Resource Center that included alumni Carlos Rosario (Vice President for Ares Credit Group), Michelle Palma, RN (Nurse Utilization Management Consultant with CVS/Aetna), Remy Plattiers (Mechanical Engineer, Lockheed Martin) and Edson Martinez, MSW, LSW (Social Worker, Elizabeth Public Schools). They shared their experiences, expertise and were truly relatable and motivating for all assembled. The panel discussion along with the entire evening was a huge success!!!
