As part of its 2016-2017 Innovative Teacher Grants Program, NBEF selected 20 projects for funding totaling $ $13,896.49. The program, co-sponsored by PNC Bank Foundation and Magyar Bank Charitable Foundation, involved 26 teachers, 10 schools, and impacted over 3,000 New Brunswick Public School students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Prior to launching their respective projects and activities in various learning disciplines including technology, reading literacy, performing arts and cultural enrichment both inside and outside of classrooms, the 2016-2017 grant recipients were publicly acknowledged at a special reception held at New Brunswick High School attended by Superintendent Aubrey Johnson, Assistant Superintendents Dr. John Anzul, Marnie McKoy and Kathy Antoine-Smith, K-12 Supervisors, School Principals, Representatives from PNC Bank and Magyar Bank, and NBEF Board members.
