Since 2011, NBEF has partnered with Bristol-Myers Squibb to sponsor Robotics Programs in the New Brunswick Public Schools. This science, technology, engineering and math (“STEM”) related endeavor provides students (6th through 12th grade) with hands-on and inquiry based learning experiences and activities that entails designing, building and programming robots.
Over the past 3 years, NBEF entered the New Brunswick Middle School Robotics Team in First Lego League (FLL) competitions resulting in high achievements, including being honored with a “Judges Award” in the Boro Blast Qualifying Event held in Hillsborough, NJ. Among 30 competitors, they were recognized for their hard work, team collaboration, and enthusiasm as an upcoming team to be reckoned with in the future.
We are also pleased to share that the New Brunswick High School Robotics Team is gearing up for its second year of competitions in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) Qualifying Tournaments. The team is set to showcase their talent, skills and teamwork at another level during this winter’s robotics competition season.
Congrats to all of the robotics students and coaches. It is exciting to see our teams (comprising future leaders in the STEM industry) in action!!!
