Edson Martinez

EDSON MARTINEZ, MSW, LSW is a 2011 New Brunswick High School alumnus and former two-time NBEF Scholarship recipient. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and acquired his Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from Rutgers in 2016. He currently works as a Licensed Social Worker at Hoboken University Medical Center, where helps patients (and their families) navigate illnesses and treatment plans.

Edson previously served on the NBEF Board of Directors and has rose through the leadership ranks as an active participant in NBEF’s College & Young Professional Network. He is passionate about community health and wellness, particularly working with the LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS populations. He has interned at both The Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities (SJE) and Hyacinth AIDS Foundation in New Brunswick.
