A 4th Cohort recently completed the training in NBEF’s Public Speakers Institute (“PSI”). They underwent a 3-part workshop series that was facilitated by Dr. Alex Ellis, a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker and award-winning author.

This NBEF professional and leadership development training is offered to members of the organization’s Network. Its aim is to administer a safe space for them to evolve as effective public speakers in classrooms and workplaces. Moreover, the NBEF PSI is designed to provide our students and young professionals with essential tools to “Own the Power of their Voices” as leaders in our community and beyond.

This culminating event was held at Middlesex College – New Brunswick Center in New Brunswick, which charged participants to give a 4-minute speech before a live audience and critiqued by both a panel of professionals from New Brunswick along with a focus group comprised of New Brunswick High School seniors.

The Cohort delivered speeches covering such topics as legacy, immigration, mental health, positive thinking, etc. included: Andrea Herrera, Arisbeth Garcia, Ayanna Slacum, Gessele Lima, Keidy Delcid, Nathalie Huembes, Richard Nemes, Yvonne Gorrell, and Zoe Shirer. They all did an awesome job!!!

NBEF thanks Dr. Alex Ellis for partnering with the NBEF Team to develop the curriculum. Also, we express our appreciation to Evelyn Rosa, Rafael Manzanares, and the staff of Middlesex College – New Brunswick Center for helping to make this initiative possible with the accommodations, classrooms, and equipment.
