The 5th Cohort of NBEF’s Public Speakers Institute (“PSI”) showcased their training at PSI’s culminating event held on November 9 th at the Middlesex College – New Brunswick Center.
NBEF PSI is a 4-part workshop series that is facilitated by Dr. Alex Ellis, a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker and award-winning author. Its aim is to administer a safe space for college students and young professionals in NBEF’s Network to evolve as effective public speakers in classrooms and workplaces. Moreover, the NBEF PSI is designed to provide young people in New Brunswick with essential tools to “Own the Power of their Voices” as leaders in our community and beyond.
At the culminating event, the participants delivered 3-minute speeches before a live audience and were critiqued by a panel of professionals from New Brunswick along with a focus group comprised of New Brunswick High School seniors.
The PSI’s 5th Cohort included: Britnely Rameriz, Elvis Kouassi, Genesis Martinez, Linnette Morel, Marisol Garcia, Monika Cunningham, Robert Vasquez Betancourt, Sherlyn Nunez Nava, and Yesenia Serrano.
Much thanks to Dr. Alex Ellis for partnering with the NBEF Team to develop the curriculum. Also, we express our appreciation to the leadership and staff of Middlesex College – New Brunswick Center for helping to make this initiative possible with the accommodations, classrooms, and equipment.
