NBEF 100 CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EXCELLENCE
The NBEF 100 Club is comprised of individuals, businesses and organizations that have made a $100.00 tax-deductible donation to NBEF with 100% used to fund college scholarships and innovative mini-grants for New Brunswick Public School students. The 100 Club annually sponsors five (5) $1,000.00 scholarships for New Brunswick High School or New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School graduating seniors who will be attending institutions of higher learning. These scholarships are awarded to deserving students for academic achievement, school leadership and community service.

NBHS CLASS OF 1954 SCHOLARSHIP
Members of the New Brunswick High School Class of 1954 partnered with NBEF to offer a $1,000.00 scholarship for a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has exceptional letters of recommendation; and who “against all odds”… has demonstrated ability to achieve academic and career success.

NBHS CLASS OF 1958 SCHOLARSHIPS
Members of the New Brunswick High School Class of 1958 are pleased to provide two (2) $1,000.00 scholarships for a male and female New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. These scholarships are awarded to deserving students who show promise of achievement and success.

NBHS CLASS OF 1969 SCHOLARSHIP
Members of the New Brunswick High School Class of 1969 partnered with NBEF to provide a $1,000.00 scholarship for a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending a four year college beginning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is in the top 20% of the 2011 graduating class and has exemplified outstanding school leadership and community service.

Members of the New Brunswick High School Classes of 1978 & 1982 are pleased to partner with NBEF to offer a $1,000.00 scholarship for a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who shows promise of achievement and success.

Dr. Peter L. Clemente, a 1959 New Brunswick High School graduate and 2008 Hall of Distinguished Alumni inductee, partnered with NBEF to offer a $1,000.00 scholarship to a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student based on his/her financial need, leadership, and community service.

Gloria Zastko, a 1949 New Brunswick High School graduate and 2009 Hall of Distinguished Alumni inductee, partnered with NBEF to offer a $1,000.00 scholarship to a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student based on his/her financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

PENELOPE E. LATTIMER, PH.D. SCHOLARSHIP
Penelope E. Lattimer, Ph.D., an educator who for 30 years held various leadership positions with the New Brunswick Public School District; and, who currently is the Assistant Director of The Rutgers Institute for Improving Student Achievement at Rutgers University Graduate School of Education, is pleased to partner with NBEF to provide a $1,000.00 scholarship for a New Brunswick High School or New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student based on his/her financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

ROBERT KUCHINSKI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Ms. Kathleen Killion (Vice President/Corporate Board Secretary for the Saint Peter’s Healthcare System and member of the NBHS Class of 1969) is pleased to provide a $1,000.00 scholarship to honor the memory of the late Robert Kuchinski, an outstanding educator at NBHS for 35 years, having served as the school’s Business Department Chair for many years. This scholarship is offered to a New Brunswick High School graduating senior attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011 and who is pursuing a secretarial, business or teaching profession.

Hector I. Rodriguez, Esq., a local attorney for more than 20 years who cares about New Brunswick youth and education, is pleased to partner with NBEF to provide a $1,000.00 scholarship for a New Brunswick High School or New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student based on his/her financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

JOHN & MARY WARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
In special tribute to their late parents, John F. and Mary S. Ward, the Ward children honor their memory through The John & Mary Ward Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000.00 scholarship offered to a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will attend a four year college beginning in the fall 2011. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who exhibits the values that Mr. and Mrs. Ward bestowed on their eleven children: respect, commitment, hard-work, citizenship and an overall desire to learn.

PAUL & WINNIE WITHERSPOON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR BOOKS
In special tribute to their late parents, Paul and Winnie Witherspoon, NBHS alumnae Janet Witherspoon ‘76 and Sheila Witherspoon, Ph.D. ‘83 honor their memory through the Paul and Winnie Witherspoon Memorial Scholarship for Books. This $1,000.00 scholarship is offered to a New Brunswick High School or New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School graduating senior who will attend a college or university in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who needs financial support for academic textbooks, as well as exhibits the values that Mr. and Mrs. Witherspoon held toward reading and excellence in the pursuit of higher education.

RICHARD H. BROWN SCHOLARSHIP
Richard H. Brown, a 1965 New Brunswick High School graduate and 2008 Hall of Distinguished Alumni inductee has partnered with NBEF to offer a $2,500.00 scholarship to a New Brunswick High School graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall 2011. This scholarship is awarded to a student based on his/her financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community service. The Richard H. Brown Scholarship Fund was made possible through a generous $10,000.00 gift donated by Gregory G. Brown, brother of Richard Brown. Gregory is President and CEO of Motorola Inc.
