NBEF Highlights
- Sponsored over 50 programs and generated over $200,000 for special projects, college scholarships, and innovative teacher grants.
- Partnered with PNC Bank to offer $10,000 in funding for an Innovative Teacher Grants Program for New Brunswick Public School teachers to develop and implement creative and cutting edge projects for their students during the spring 2011.
- Acquired a $5,000 grant from the United Way of Central Jersey to establish an Emergency School Uniform Fund to help families who are unable to purchase school uniforms for their children due to financial hardship.
- Funded 27 mini-grant projects in the New Brunswick Public Schools that involved 30 teachers and impacted over 1,000 Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade students during the 2007-2009 school years.
- Partnered with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, MagyarBank Charitable Foundation, Karma Foundation, and New Brunswick High Alumni to contribute $23,500 toward the New Brunswick Public School District’s new instrumental music education program.
- Inducted 32 outstanding New Brunswick High School graduates into the Hall of Distinguished Alumni and awarded 46 college scholarships totaling $51,000 at NBEF Annual Awards Galas held in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
- Partnered with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company to sponsor a Genetics Enrichment project for three hundred (300) 7th grade students; and Environmental Science Project for four hundred and fifty (450) 10th grade students, totaling $20,000.
- Acquired an Adobe Production Studio Premium software package for the New Brunswick High School 3-D Technology Visual Arts Design Program, costing $2,200.
- Funded a Digital Photography Module as part of a Technical Education Systems Lab in the New Brunswick Middle School, costing $4,200.
- Acquired a Kuder Career Planning System software package for $1,500, which helps 7th and 8th grade students assess their interest, skills, and work values with occupational information sources.
- Partnered with the School District’s Technology Department to provide a Career Development Symposium for New Brunswick High School students.
- Established a Speaker’s Bureau that involves New Brunswick High School alumni volunteers who speak at school district programs, including career days, assemblies, and graduations.
NBEF is 100% funded by donations from individuals, local businesses, corporations, and foundations. Major sponsors include Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, MagyarBank Charitable Foundation, United Way of Central Jersey, Karma Foundation, PNC Bank, Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, DeVry University, PSE&G, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and New Brunswick High School Alumni.
